At Bayview Rehabilitation we value your health and aim to provide a variety of therapy with the exceptional care you need and the care you deserve.
Physiotherapy is a primary care, patient-focused health profession directly involved in movement sciences and aims to enhance or restore the function of multiple body systems. Our team is committed to health, lifestyle, and quality of life by incorporating a broad range of physical and physiological therapeutic interventions and aids.
Massage therapy involves hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, muscles, connective tissues, tendons and ligaments, and joints for the purpose of optimizing health. It has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on muscular, nervous, and circulatory systems. Our massage therapists use a variety of techniques to improve function and relieve pain caused by dysfunction in these systems.
Acupuncture is a healing technique that has been studied and utilized for over 2500 years. Using ancient scientific principles, it is used to encourage natural healing, improving mood and energy, reduce and relieve pain and improve the function of affected areas of the body. At Bayview Rehabilitation, our team utilizes the principles of acupuncture as either an adjunct to traditional physiotherapy or as a standalone modality for treating all musculoskeletal conditions.
Similar to acupuncture, electroacupuncture functions to improve healing, reduce pain and improve function. This technique involving attaching a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips allows several pairs of acupuncture needles to be stimulated simultaneously and at varying impulses. Electroacupuncture is used by our team to enhance your acupuncture experience.
Manual Therapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy that involves the management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions based on clinical reasoning, using highly specific treatment approaches including gentle, hands-on techniques combined with therapeutic exercise. Our team utilizes their exercise therapy training to mobilize muscle tissue and stiff joints to help decrease pain and joint dysfunction.
This technique involving myofascial release, assistive stretching and massage includes applying precise pressure during a specific stretch performed across all planes of movement. It is effective in reorganizing scar tissue, returning muscles to proper resting length, correcting muscle imbalances, improving muscle function and decreasing pain.
Lumbar and/ or Cervical Traction involves stretching the spine with the goal of relieving back or leg pain caused by bulging, degenerating or herniated discs. Our team utilizes the both manual or mechanical traction in delivering relief.
Prenatal massage improves circulation, reduces stress hormones in your body, relieves insomnia, and decreases the added stresses on muscles and joints associated with carrying a child including neck and back pain, leg cramping, and sciatica. Our team can help to relieve carpal tunnel pain, swelling in hands and feet and alleviate headaches and sinus congestion – all of which are common pregnancy problems.
Bayview Rehabilitation is a Certified McKenzie Clinic. The McKenzie Method is a comprehensive approach to the spine that involves a systematic progression of applied mechanical forces which utilizes pain responses to monitor change in motion/function. Treatment (also known as MDT) involves reproducing the forces that have been identified in resolving the pain quickly in order to restore function and independence.

Being the most active joint in our body, the temporomandibular joint is often associated with painful jaw movement used in speech and mastication. With unique approaches to treating muscle disorders, internal disc derangements, subluxations, and arthritic conditions associated with this joint, our team is dedicated to improving your ability to speak and chew.
In-home-based physiotherapy provides assessment and treatment to our clients in their homes to improve overall physical well-being, enhance social functioning, increase independence and teach self-management. Our team will travel to your house, condominium, or apartment to provide you with the physiotherapy care you require.

Customized orthotics are devices designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They appear similar to insoles but utilize biomechanical appliances that are customized to correct specific foot imbalances. They function to reduce stress and strain on your body associated with poor foot mechanics when standing and/or walking commonly associated with the foot, leg, or back problems. At Bayview Rehabilitation, we can prescribe custom orthotics to help correct your specific foot and body imbalances.
Whether our clients are high-level athletes or weekend warriors, Bayview Rehabilitation provides our clients with sport-specific physiotherapy to ensure muscle or joint recovery is optimized with the training required to excel in their sport of choice.
Taping is used when large stressors are placed on muscles and joints causing pain and tiredness. This technique promotes healing and renews fatigued and/or injured muscles in order to allow those muscles and joints to sustain large forces over time. At Bayview Rehabilitation, taping techniques, in conjunction with manual and exercise therapy are used for treating sports injuries and various orthopedic and circulatory conditions and have been shown to optimize your recovery.
Interferential Current Therapy (IFC), transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), laser therapy, and therapeutic ultrasound are noninvasive modalities used to promote healing, decrease muscle tension and increase circulation. Our team utilizes these devices as an adjunct to manual therapy and exercises to relax tissues and speed up the recovery process.
Pelvic floor problems can be caused by weak or tight pelvic floor muscles. When muscles are too weak, they contribute to incontinence and organ prolapse. Tight muscles cause pelvic pain or fluctuations in the frequency of urination, constipation, and chronic conditions. Pelvic health physiotherapists are specialty-trained in treating these conditions and are indicated as the first line of defense for a range of pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Designed by trained vestibular physiotherapists, specialized exercise therapy and techniques are utilized to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness.
